God damn was this a bad idea or what...haha, just kidding. This is one hell of a challenge though, both mental and physical. Week one was a bitch up for three days straight wearing civilian cloths covered in hair. Got issued my camis and gear on day 2. Then my rifle on day 3. I did officially patch my things up with Laura, she gives me something to look forward to. PT isn't all that bad, its all mental. week one really broke me down, not being able to even talk to my family really sucks. Waking up at 4:00 only to get yelled at. Everyone's starting to get used to it though. Sorry couldnt finish the letter yesterday. Anyways im sitting at medical for a follow up from ta few days ago. Got diagnosed with pink-eye (left and right?) bronchitis and something else i cant pronounce. Alright well, sorry but ive gotta end this letter. Write me douches!

Just got off the phone with Nc. He is out of boot camp now. You believe it has already been 3 months since he left?? He wants me to say hello to all of you, so..."Hello". He is back for 10 days i believe, then he is off to somewhere else.

Hey guys, well ten days sure went by fast. I leave in about 3 hours for Camp Geiger, NC. For the next 29 days I'll be complete my Marine Combat Training or MCT. Basically I get to shoot the rest of the basic Marine Corps arsenal and then I get to learn the basic tactics or urban assault/combat. As well as some IED classes and whatnot.
Alright well I'll be back in 29 days guys. Still going to hold off on any gaming until I get to Oklahoma though. After MCT I'll be home for about two weeks before shipping off to Ft. Sill. Yes, I'll have my cell phone but can only make calls on Sundays because we spend most of our time out in the field. Alright well take care fellas. Semper Fidelis and all that good trash.

Well I'm now home for 13 days, till 11 January. Then I fly out to Lawton Airport with a layover at fort worth for a few hours. But I'll be in OK on the 11th in the afternoon. MCT was awesome; I fired the m249 SAW, m240 Bravo, M16A4 with an RCO, Pec15 and a broomstick. At4 anti light armor rocket system, M203 granade launcher on an M16, and the m67 fragmentation granade. woo! Got to ride in a 7-ton and get blown up by an IED then take contact on the left flank and we all disembarked and killed the enemy. Slept in the field for two weeks straight without showers, made me feel like a man... had an awesome mansent also. And thats about it.. MOUT town is a fake afghan city that we had to take over and hold for 36 hours while they threw arty sim rounds at us and shot us with sim rounds (9mm paintball rounds that hurt like a bitch)

Standard issue flaks are made to withstand knife and 9mm blows. With the 45 lbs of sappy plates it feels like someone just throwing a rock at you. (badass) But yea, basically everyone got shot at least once because my entire unit had to go at the same time and when you breach a door with a frag there's only one team at a time so you stood outside in a road with the rest of your unit trying to hold a defensive and yea.. epic failure because instructors like to use rooftops.

Knife blows. Ballin' Hey. Clear something up for me. I heard that the reason Marine boot camp is longer because the Marine boot camp has close combat training. True? False? Wtf mate?

Army basic training takes what I just got done (MCT) and throws it in with the rest of their training and its still only 9 weeks long. Bootcamp you learn MCMAP (Marine corps martial arts program) to reach tan belt status and you also learn drill (discipline) basic IED training, Basic combat formations and Basic combat tactics as well as USMC history and welfare programs/rules. MCT throws in the official combat training and adds on to what you learned at basic. They try to take you from the robot after bootcamp to a more self-thinking individual who can handle himself/others on the battlefield. now, why the army still fits all this into 9 weeks. No idea.. but hey, they are soldiers afterall.. lol
