Well, just got a call from Nc. He tells me there was a power surge and his pc and part of his room has caught fire. So we may not see him for a while.

So let this be known that at all times be sure you have a surge protector on your pc. Then make sure you have insurance, when my pc needs an upgrade i got a bad feeling that my pc might "catch fire" too. lol.

Everything that was plugged into any outlet in his house is fried. TV's and all. He says he will be out of commission for a while now. He says his mom has home owners insurance, does anyone know if that will pay for a new pc and stuff?

I am not sure but i think you have to have it all documented as stuff in the house before the fire,like i said im not sure........but when i was talking about getting it i was told i had to list everything in my house of value so that it was on record........becase then you cant say ,oh fuck man i had a bran new 64 in. plasma tv and a top of the line gameing computer ,you get the point right...........

I have heard that some ins companies, will come to your house, and list all things valuable in the home, and they might even record a short video, to prove the condition of the home... And then any new things need to have receipts for them to cover them... But then again, this is what I have heard, dont know for sure..

I have renters insurance, no photos or videos were taken. They basically asked me how much coverage do i need for the electronic devices in my house. Then how much coverage for furniture and so forth. I pay a whopping 15 bucks a month for $20,000 coverage.

it is prob. a good thing if i do get somthing like that....i love my stuff and really dont want to have to replace it.......well my computer and my 205 in plasma tv...wink wink

Coming from my mothers laptop after the internet service gave us a new modem and whatnot since the others are fried.
About a month ago BGE (electric company) Came out and fixed an oldschool rig that was being ran to our house and made it a more modern fix. Basically they took one wire and spliced it into two. Now when they where done the lazy fucks didn't secure the wires on nicely and splice them back together well so a tiny fucking branch knocked one a tad loose. This made one wire put out one volt and the other put out 239 volts. So everything in my house got hit with 240 volts, this even went through several surge protectors. With the acception of ONE!!! which was not my computer, it was my tv-fan-phone charger- and heating blanket
But yea, My computer caught fire as well as another two computers in the house. Fucking sucks. From what we understand BGE is supposed to come out in 3-5days and inspect the losses, which we have piled up in the living room. Except for BOTH refrigerators... Our coffee pot!!!! And our microwave. >_> It fucking blows. I was in the stone age for about 12hours and it sucks.
But anyways, From what we've heard BGE is going to say "Fuck you, we aint paying" Then the insurance is going to say.. "Well fuck you, we aint paying" So they're going to duke in out in court BEFORE we get a fucking penny to replace the stuff. We have like... no food anymore, it's all going bad and shit. It sucks big time.
I'm homeing that it's just my powersupply that got shot so if anyone has or knows of anyone with a spare it would be of the greatest appreciation. You can hit up cap for my number if you want to contact me then. I have unlimited texting so it's all good.

I am going over a friends house monday who's dad worked with the local PD as a tech guy who said he'll recover all my photo's and whatnot which is a spit of good news.

I don't want to give you more bad news, but if your PSU got hit with 240 (which it can put out that much if set to it) But more than likely your whole system got fucked, ESPECIALLY if it was turned on. But your HDD "might" be okay. If your lucky that is.

Well I've been having so much good luck lately, huh. . .
And it was originally on, but my ma said that the power was OUT when she got home. Which would mean that it was off when the power attempted to turn itself on and instead ran the 240 through everything.
At this point dude, I honestly dont care. I'll probably end up telling my recruiter if he doesnt get me a slot after I walk across the stage then I'll go talk to another branch which I'm sure he'll find one then.

I'm getting on Xbox.com ina few minutes to report my box as having the ring so they can ship out the box and I'll get that taken care of. Got myself a 3month live card I found in the closet so I can use that till I either get a new job or just leave.
Again, you can text me. No chance of getting vent on either laptop because they already run like piss due to the fact that my mom and sister know nothing about virus' and love to download all the free cursors and all that shit. *sigh* Oh well.

Yea, so we got a letter in the mail. That 3-5 days for the inspector is now up to 3-5 weeks.
How the fuck can an electric company dodge someones calls???

So, I'm guessing that's the end of my gaming days. They where fun, but I still can't even finda damn job so by the time I can get the money for a new rig it wouldn't be worth the time I'd have left at home.

So, got in a big fight with my stepdad about him only replacing his shit that was lost. And nothing of mine.
So the homeowners are being sent out next week, if they refuse to pay it then my ma is going to pick me up a new system and give the receipt to my stepdad so he can pay her for it.
That's the good news, bad news is that I have to move out after graduation whether its to boot camp or not. Which means if I cant ship sooner then I get to live with a buddy for a month or two until I ship. So I'm not going to bother getting a new system, just going to go with a nice laptop so I can take it with me to OK. when the time comes.
