Clan Up Dates

Okay, I would like to First start off with our active friends. That have made this site possible for almost a year now, Thank you for that. Maybe we will do something to the site so celebrate our one year online.

Here is some history about the Cereal Killers. The Cereal Killers started in mid 2001. At that time the Clan had no name, and had about only 5 members. We had been holding local LAN parties nearly every month in each others homes. Our Clan was growing and fast eventually some time in early 2002 the clan took the name of "The Cereal Killers." At that time everyone that was in the Clan took a cereal name. during that same time the LAN Party's were being setup in a two bedroom apartment with a turn out of about 8 to 16 people. In Mid 2005 The Cereal Killers were at the height of their power moving its LAN Party's to there own building in hosting about 20 to 25 people. With the release of BF2 in late 2005 our Clan was now playing online and still hosting outstanding LAN's. The Cereal Killers officially went online in February of 2007 with a MySpace Page. This made it easier for the leaders of the clan to let members know what was going on with the clan. We also would post information about the upcoming LAN's. Another purpose of the MySpace was to talk about the previous LAN's, what could be improved and how. The MySpace Page was made by Smacks. Two days later Smacks had Cap'n Crunch take over the page. The page did not do so well at first, so we had Grapenuts take over as page manager. GrapeNuts did a fucking awesome job on the page. Everything was going Great until April 24, 2007, when at the age of 19, Cereal Killer and Friend Chris AKA " Frankenbary" died in a car accident. He was the brother of General Mills and Mike Eply. The Cereal Killer's held a LAN Party in his name. It was also decided that the name "Frankenbary" would be retired. In June 2007, attendance fell to about 10 to 12 members, way below normal and eventually got worse. In August 2007 attendance was so bad that very few members were showing up to the LAN's. It was decided by the leaders of the Clan that all upcoming LAN's would be canceled. The leaders took notice of this. They went to its online department and decided to expand world wide. They decided that it would only be hosting about 4 LAN's a year. At this time the online game was BF2 and TF2. Cereal Killers had already opened an online account with Steam in September 2007. The Cereal Killers now had two online departments, one MySpace and Steam. The Cereal Killers Steam account was opened by Smacks, and Lucky Charms.

On Jan 27, 2008 CerealKiller.darkbb.com was born. Opened by Lucky Charms. The MySpace page was then shutdown. GrapeNuts was named site manager. You can still visit the MySpace page at www.myspace.com/cerealkillers75020. In February 2008 Smacks opened a paypal account for the clan and opened a 22 slot TF2 sever as well as Vent. The sever was doing great! It was full everyday from around 11am to 6pm. The only problems were recruiting new members and adding more admins. There were only 4 admins on the sever. Smacks and Lucky got it going every morning. Smacks, called for a meeting about this problem. There was no way of fixing this. The sever ran for 2 months. After the sever was shutdown the clan no longer played TF2 and instated started playing BF2. This seemed to be THE game for this clan. In April the Clan opened a Ranked BF2 server. The sever would only run for a month before it once again seemed that the clan was dying. Clan leaders started looking for clans to srcim with and did. Clan leaders then decided that it would open a BF2 server again but this time it would be private and only used for scrims and practices. This server was only used to scrim [Fever] and then again went offline. The Cereal Killers of today are now playing WoW. Some now may say "well we had a good run but the end is near." I don't believe that, I believe we just need to rethink the way we do things. I am calling for all members and local members to get the word out there. Tell a friend and have that friend tell his friends. Our problem has always been recruiting and the lack of it. If we don't get the word out there our clan will die!! I would like everyone to discuss it in this forum and let me know what we can do different. Talk will only get us so far, WE have to take ACTION.

yeah but a lan party will not do anything for the people who are not local,i agree with smacks on the fact that we do need to move forward if even just a lil.
I will do what i can with recruiting in bf2 when i play.

I hardly have time for the net in general atm.. But ya
we definetly need to have a night, to where we can get together, (not all of us) but those that
are willing to play, and have a BF2 night back..

Well I have been working on the recruiting, I mean hell. I got Snappy, Tiger and Nc. (Damn I did great huh? =p) But its not like there are people just sitting there waiting for that invite. You need to make friends, then pop the question lol

I've been debating on installing all my battlefields again, but I don't know. I'm still running the first gen Raptor that's only like 30 gigs, and since I do alot of photoshop and torrent downloading I don't have the extra space. But If there is a BF 2 night, I might install it just for that. Does no one play TF 2 or any steam games anymore? o O

Alright guys this server is ours. I will updated it soon with more slots. Try to finger out this admin shit I could use some help. I don't care if the server is full or not it's ours to have fun with. So if anyone can plz help me with the admin stuff it would be helpful. Anyways let's have some fun!!!

well i have TF2 installed and ready to play when the need arises, i never much cared for BF2 but i can reinstall it when necessary, in wow you tend to not see anyone on that want's to play with a clan during the dead season, right now all the people are doing is grinding for ICC and RS so they can get achievement's, fat chance that they are local. So there's nearly no one on there either, at work there is NOBODY there to recruit cause none of them are gamers, the best i can do is do TF2, some BF2, and start putting it out on Facebook, someone else can do twitter. sorry smacks but i don't have a clue about the admin stuff, but I'll try to help out

I dont have TF2, so looks like this is where I say so long... nah just playin, but good luck with all that.. I never liked that game much anyway... And dont intend on spending money on crap...

Trix and I have started playing this co op game called, KILLING FLOOR. I'm not going to tell you what it involves, you do the research. It's a 6 player co op though.

So yeah, if you guys wanna play some TF2 or any other steam game just gimme an invite if I'm online. I'll play anything except MW2, BF or CS.
